Minnesota QP Tanner Morgan to be transferred to the medical center for an injury he sustained versus Illinois

Minnesota coach PJ Flick told KFAN Sports Radio after the game that Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan will be taken to a medical center after being injured during the Govers’ 26-14 loss to Illinois on Saturday.

“It’s unfortunate,” Flick said. “He’s such a competitor and that was a pretty slam dunk, you know, when he got on the floor, and you know, I thought our people did a great job getting them to work. But they’re going to give him the best care, I know that, and that’s all I have at this time.”

Is Alabama in trouble?

The procedural penalties of an Alabama crime are so uncharacteristic. There was already a ton. Crimson Tide already had seven penalty kicks for 54 yards in the first 10 minutes of the game and the yardage would be even worse if Alabama had not been backed up against the goal line in the previous round.

Illinois, Purdue withdraw at Big Ten West

The Big Ten West didn’t end but quickly became a two-team race between Illinois and Purdue (especially if Purdue beat Nebraska tonight). Long-time frontier rivals, only 90 miles apart, met on November 12 in Champaign. On November 19, Illinois plays Michigan in an influential non-squad game.

Strong start for folders

About the worst possible start for Alabama and the best possible start for Tennessee.

Volumes at the top, 7-0. This is going to be a tough game on the line of contention, and that’s the difference today. This is why Alabama has dominated this rivalry for the past 15 years. Vols have rarely been able to compete up front. They can today. And it has so far.

Hawkeyes’ comeback is coming short

The fourth-quarter comeback didn’t make up for three-quarters of offensive struggles, as Virginia Tech lost to Miami 20-14 at Lane Stadium. The Hokies trailed 20-0 after three quarters, having only managed 118 yards from the attack. Tech got a touchdown from Malachi Thomas and Grant Wells in fourth but couldn’t come back. The Hokies (2-5, 1-3 ACC) have lost four consecutive games in the same season for the first time since 2018 and only the second time in the past 30 years.

Georgia AD Mitchell’s reception team likely won’t play

Georgia receiver AD Mitchell likely won’t play today due to an ankle injury. Mitchell missed two consecutive games before returning last week against Auburn, but made it only three plays. Georgia is also without tailor Kendall Milton (thigh), and the start inside also likely won’t go inside linebacker Smael Mondon (ankle) today. The Bulldogs have a farewell week after that before the Florida game.

Wolverines land game done by

Michigan’s hasty attack went nowhere. The Wolverines ran for 418 yards in a 41-17 win over Penn State, with Blake Corum (166) and Donovan Edwards (173) each leading 100 yards. After passing their early schedule, the Wolverines faced a top 10 team and left no doubt. This was a great performance by Jim Harbaugh’s team.
