Late in the first quarter defensive line Micah Morris intercepted Joe Green’s pass and ran it back 30 yards to land a 10 – 0 lead. Turns became a factor as Columbia committed four spins. Defensive back Kendrine Smith intercepted a pass and recovered two passes. The fast food negated a big offensive game by the Lions and the other Quakers were set up in the red zone. The Spiders had 4 runners who had double yard numbers led by Aaron Dykes with 89 on 23 gigs. The Wildcats had a 7-0 lead on Conor Watkins’ 13-yard touchdown track. But the only points they would add came in Matthew Mercurio’s 24-yard goal. Richmond responded when Reese Odinsky threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Connor Daveney to lead 14-10 in the first half.
